The famous cross-dressing detective Shirley Holmes, and her sidekick Dr Watson, are faced with a bizarre mystery to solve after the hapless plodders in the Tolorth D’Arcy CID come up short again.

Set in the gloomy suburbs of Victorian London, where the cabbies are hansom but everyone else leaves a lot to be desired, the annual cornerHOUSE panto is a story of heroism, deduction, intrigue and adventure, with an original musical score and a fresh airing for some truly appalling old puns.
Shirley Holmes and the Sound of the Basket Wheels is at the cornerHOUSE arts centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton, from Tuesday, January 27 to Saturday January 31 2015. Performances at 7.45pm nightly, with a 4pm Saturday matinee.
