Poetry returns to the cornerHOUSE and we need your input.

To mark National Poetry Day we are having a cornerHOUSE poetry special on Friday 9 October, doors opening at 7.00pm. We are looking for poets in our community to read their own works on the themes of :

* relationships,
* stormy weather and
* food

If you are interested in reading and have, or will write, a suitable poem, please let us know in advance so we can programme the evening. The event will be chaired by Tim Harrison, and there will be a sales table of slim volumes. Tickets are just £5.00 and will include cheese and biscuits. There will be suitable opportunities to buy wine (and other drinks) at the bar. We are also interested in your views on future poetry events. Should we book professional poets, have poetry workshops, invite you to read your favourite poems and so on. Perhaps you can tell us on the 9th of October?

If you would like to read one or two your poems please e-mail us at info@thecornerhouse.org by 5 October. Use that address also to reserve tickets. Unreserved tickets will also be sold on the door, subject to availability
