Conservative pre-election survey finds concern about Tolworth Greenway changes

Shoppers and residents have voiced their disapproval over Tolworth’s Greenway project, according to a Conservative poll ahead of this month’s council elections.

Three-quarters of the 500 people surveyed online and in the street said another traffic-lighted crossing should be installed, and 71 percent agreed that though Tolworth Broadway needed improvement, the scheme was not the best solution.

The poll was carried out by Alexandra ward councillor Richard Hudson, and candidates Ian George and Chris Hayes.

I think the have got it completely wrong. Should and could have widened pavements with inset parking and Trees. So it's actual dual carriage way from the lights along all sides and no road parking - at the moment it's single lane double lane single lane because of the cars that park on the road.

They have planted trees at the EDGE of that mint green monstrosity ( that is already dirty an horrible ) that wide vans are already clipping. Why the hell did they not put them on the middle at least?!

I am all for not building yup areas too much but the problem is the A3 is basically a River and there are not enough ways to cross it.

Well that and the fact you can't polish a turd as they say...
