Are you heir to a lost fortune? Read the A-Z list of unclaimed wills from Surbiton

Could you be the heir to a valuable estate of a deceased relative that has been left unclaimed for years?

The Surrey Comet list here showing hundreds of unclaimed estates for people who have died in Surbiton could provide some clues. It has been sourced from government-held details of people have died over the past 30 years without making a will and with no known next-of-kin. Quite a lot of the people on the list were into their 90s when they passed away, with at least a couple over 100. The youngest were sadly in their 30s or 40s.

As well as the basic details we’ve published below, the full list includes further suggestions to help identify some of the deceased, such as women's maiden names, marital status, and the names and places of death of spouses and relatives.

If an estate is unclaimed after 12 years it goes to the Treasury and becomes Crown property, but it is possible to claim some part for up to 30 years. The list of people who left the unclaimed estates below only includes those for whom at least some of dates and places of birth and death have been established or suggested. The government list also includes a large number of names for whom some of those details remain unknown.

It is the responsibility of claimants to identify their relationship to the deceased and then to submit documentary evidence, including ID documents, to prove that relationship.
