New feature: The Best / Worst of Surbiton

Rank or rated? Nominate a person, business, service or anything other users can vote on.
It's a continuous poll of what's best and worst in Surbiton. A chance to share your experiences and see rankings of the results.

The Surbiton.com team is pleased to introduce a major new feature to the site: the ability to nominate and rate the best and worst of Surbiton, as well as share your praise or disgrace them with your comments.

There are several ways you can use the new features. For example:

  • Look up recommendations for a local baby-sitter
  • Vent your anger over a shoddy plumber
  • Promote your own local business
  • Praise your favourite Surbiton restaurant.

Instructions

We'll periodically promote a particular category across the site, but you can make a nomination to any category you can think of.
Once the numbers build up, we hope to make this a valuable resource to find out what's to be sought out or avoided, as well as place the praise the best or shame the worst.

Beta

The Best / Worst feature is still being developed, but we feel it's now ready for the public.
We'll do our utmost to preserve your nominations, votes and comments, but expect changes and improvements.

Your feedback is very important. We want to make this feature as useful as we can, so we'll be relying on you to suggest improvements. Invite your friends to take part so we can get as much useful information we can.
Please leave your feedback in the beta discussion forum.

Future features

We've quite a few ideas already on what features we want to add, some still on the drawing-board, others nearly ready for the public, plus lots of other we're keeping to ourselves until they're ready:

  • Improved graphic design and usability
  • Easier searching and browsing
  • Nominees plotted on a map
  • Widened geographic search and nomination
  • Continuous improvements
  • Verified nominee responses
  • Your own ideas and suggestions.

We're excited to bring this new feature to you. We hope that it will eventually give the people of Surbiton a important and empowering resource. Whatever you think, we'd really appreciate any feedback and suggestions.
